The retreat is suitable for beginners to learn about the basics of yoga and for more advanced yoga students to deepen their practice.
Schedule / daily program
Friday 28/8/20 arrive between 2pm and 6pm
4pm yoga class (asana, pranayama)
6 pm Dinner
7:30pm meditation and introduction
5:30am Sun Salutation + breathing exercises (optional)
6am morning meditation
9am – 11am hatha-yoga class (asana)
Afternoon activities / free time: hike up Mount Coolum, walk along the beach, swim in the ocean, nap, read a book, stroll through Coolum, Siesta……
4pm hatha-yoga class (asana, pranayama)
7:30pm satsang (meditation, Kirtan, lecture,…) or by the campfire (weather permitting)
5:30am Sun Salutation + breathing exercises (pranaymaya)
6am silent meditation walk
9am – 11am hatha-yoga class (asana)
2pm end of the Retreat
All classes and program are optional, but highly recommended to attend to get the most benefits from this intensive yoga and meditation weekend.
We are surrounded by beautiful nature and there is enough time for walks, reading a good book or just simply release, relax and recharge.
Accommodation, Cost and Registration
The accommodation is basic and very clean. Our Camp is the Cross Ridge Lodge spread across 4 dorms, each with its own bathroom. Plus a separate dining hall, hall for our yoga & meditation classes and practice, over looking the ocean. Camp fire area and beautiful covered deck.
The cost for the weekend is $460.-
Included in this price are the complete yoga program, accommodation (Please bring your own linen) and vegetarian meals.
A non-refundable deposit of $130.- is required to reserve your space.
The final payment is due one week before the Retreat.

The vegetarian meals are prepared and served by the Luther Heights Catering team.
The meals are vegetarian, according to the yogic diet, including milk products. If you require gluten-free and/or dairy-free or any other dietary requirements, please let me know with your booking. The catering / cooking team at Luther Heights Youth Camp gladly accommodates to your individual needs.Thank You!!
During the Weekend we observe and practice the five points of Yoga:
Proper Exercise (Asana) Proper exercise should be pleasant to the practitioner while beneficial to the body, mind and spiritual life.
Proper Breathing (Pranayama) Proper breathing should be deep, slow and rhythmical. This increases vitality and mental clarity.
Proper Relaxation (Savasana) By relaxing deeply all the muscles the Yogi can thoroughly rejuvenate his/her nervous system and attain a deep sense of inner peace.
Proper Diet (Vegetarian) A lacto-vegetarian diet. This is an integral part of the Yogic lifestyle.
Positive Thinking and Meditation(Dhyana) Here is the most important point of all, we become what we think. A positive outlook on life can be developed by learning and practicing the teachings of the philosophy of Vedanta. The mind will be brought under perfect control by regular practice of meditation.
What to bring / packing-list
Meditation pillow or your personal meditation–stool and shawl (optional)
Bring your own linen: pillow, sheet to cover mattress, blankets and/or sleeping bag, towel
Good walking shoes
Warm clothing (evenings and mornings might be cool)
Toiletries and personal accessories
Swimsuit (if you are keen for a swim) + beach towel
Earplugs recommended, if you are a light sleeper.
Notebook and pencil if you like to take notes in the lectures.
A book you meant to read for a while, colouring book and pencils, if you find time to do so.

I have never been to a yoga retreat and I was quite sceptical initially. A friend told me about it and I thought I will give it a go. It was a great decision! The teacher Maria Prema was great – skilled and personable; I felt really comfortable with her. The view was breath-taking and the food was delicious. Meeting like-minded people and doing yoga for the 3 days was wonderful. To do Surya Namaskar while watching the sun rise over the ocean was quite an amazing experience. On the whole, it was soul-enriching and the retreat was a real treat for me!

Firstly, Thank you for an Absolutely Lovely retreat and for attracting an amazing authentic bunch of people to your Yoga Practice.. It was so nice to be pushed gently out of my comfort zone of yoga I have fallen into and reacquaint with some old stretches and poses and look at a couple of new ones as well. You have motivated me to start the day again with my Salute to the Sun Routine.
Thanks again for a wonderful weekend! I came away from this weekend with so much.. Even a new inspired menu for my daughter and I 😃
After such an invigorating weekend of yoga, meditation and friendship, I feel I must write and thank you. I feel so blessed to know you and to be able to share in your wealth of knowledge about the philosophy of yoga, meditation, chanting and your life experiences which you passed on to us at Gunnebah Retreat. It has been a very uplifting experience for me.
Thank you also for your talent in singing and playing the harmonium for us and teaching us how to chant. I found the pranayama exercises so beneficial. My nasal passages have never felt so unobstructed.
The facilities, the food, and the company of so many interesting people who are from all walks of life and who all share our common interest in yoga were part of the enriching experience for me. I especially appreciate your understanding of people and how you are able to motivate and inspire us all no matter our personal circumstances.
