Mantra – Deity – day of the week
Dear Readers and Yogis/Yoginis,
Today’s blog entry makes more sense to those of you who are familiar with the different Deities and Mantras. In future blogs, I’ll talk and explain more about it in detail.
When I visited Swami Anasaktananda-ji (www.sivayogadivine.net) for the first time, one of the many things he taught me was, that there are different days to repeat Mantras for different Deities. They can be repeated anytime, but there is a more auspicious day of the week for each deity or aspect of it. A practice that is done at Swamiji’s Ashram every morning, daily prayer and chanting.
Monday = Siva
Tuesday = Subramanya
Wednesday = Krishna
Thursday = Guru
Friday = Devi
Saturday = Rama
Sunday = Vishnu

GO INTO SILENCE by Swami Sivananda
Silence is Peace.
Silence is Brahman or the Absolute.
Ayam Atma Santah – this Atman is Silence.
Behind all noises and sounds is Silence – thy innermost Soul.
Silence is thy real name.
Silence strengthens thought-power.
Silence is intuitive experience.
Silence helps the intuitional Self to express itself.
To go into Silence is to become God.
Enter into Silence and become one with the Supreme Soul.
Swami Sivananda

the law of attraction…
“You sow a thought, you reap an action.
You sow an action, you reap a habit.
You sow a habit, you reap a character.
You sow a character, you reap a destiny.”

Early Morning Beauty

The early bird, catches the best worm!
If you are up early, you can witness the silence of nature and get the chance to see some spectacular sunrises. This time of the day is what Yogis refer to as “Brahma-muhurta” – the best time to meditate, when the quality of nature is pure “Sattva”.
I took this photo on Monday morning 20th May, 2013.
